my Chickens – Abington Chicken ~I mean~ Children Photography… Review Nikon 35mm 1.4 G

Just some fun with a new piece of equipment…  I like to test out new gear on the hardest subjects on the face of the planet… My kids!  Well I have to say, I am crazy excited about this new little gem.  I am kind of an equipment junky to say the least but I am for good reason!  There are things that you can do with photography and certain equipment that allows you to do it.  Yes it’s expensive and yes it takes skill to use it properly…  But when you do…  It’s amazing!  I’ll post some details below with the pictures for those who care…  For those who just want to see some funny pictures of my kids…  Have Fun!

Nikon 35mm 1.4G   all shots are at f1.4 of course…  I mean why wouldn’t they be??

Note that you can’t see anything in the room with any clarity at all!!  That’s the perfect lens for my house!
Poor C! Hey dad, could you put the camera down and give me a little help here??

This is at the minimum focus distance of 10″ or so…  WOW! Oh and not to mention it’s practically dark in the room for this shot!  And this was not a shot that she held position for… 😉

This is amazing to me for this reason.  Well two really, one my daughter is adorable… Just Say’n  and 2 because with a 35mm lens this far away to have such beautiful bokeh is awesome!
Also It really was DARK!  this was shot at ISO 12,800 at f 1.4 at 1/15th of a second.  She is lit by her favorite bed time show and the curtains were down.  in the back there is the little bit of twilight coming in the bathroom and hall windows…
FUN STUFF!

So in conclusion…  Big Fan!  Totally worth it!

Thanks for the information! It helps me understand (see the results) the ‘Why’ of what is written in my manual. My camera (Nikon) is like Greek to me which is somewhat disheartening since I love taking pics of the kids so much.

    Love, love, love Cissa’s close-up!
